As I write today’s translations weeks in advance, I am currently, in my free time, reading Joan Didion—The White Album, specifically, page 83, within her essay entitled ‘Bureaucrats’—today’s prosaic energies were seemingly predestinedly animated upon the page…
¶Mere driving on the freeway is in no way the same as participating in it. Anyone can “drive” on the freeway, and many people with no vocation for it do, hesitating here and resisting there, losing the rhythm of the lane change, thinking about where they came from and where they are going. Actual participants think only about where they are…
Living in the moment. Present. Conscious. Fully awake.
¶Actual participation requires a total surrender, a concentration so intense as to seem a kind of narcosis, a rapture of the freeway. The mind goes clean. The rhythm takes over. A distortion of time occurs, the same distortion that characterizes the instant before an accident. It takes only a few seconds to get off… a difficult exit requiring the driver to cross… but those few seconds always seem to me the longest part of the trip. The moment is dangerous. The exhilaration is in doing it… the freeways become a special way of being alive… the extreme concentration required in Los Angeles seems to bring on a state of heightened awareness that some locals find mystical…

Oh my—the menial, mechanical mundanity of getting from one place to another, of one’s own volition, despite it all—this paragraph so demurely describes today’s underlying motivations… and there’s nothing mundane about it at all—not when you’re actually participating in your life.
For those of you anywhere east of the west coast—the moon will remain in Pisces, and on the west coast, will move into Aries around 10pm PDT… the underlying interconnectedness that Didion is describing above will likely be experienced throughout the vibrations, even in preparation for tomorrow’s Aries moon… and remember, we are moving toward a last quarter moon in Aries, a moon which will almost guarantee some manner of motivated participation, lane change, or heightened awareness—and this new awareness is sure to be extreme and potentially combative.

A space for inner stability—which is to imply transcending sanctuary—would be advised at this time, as well as trusting wholeheartedly this pulse Didion so appropriately articulates, and unknowingly—decades ago—so fiercely forewarns of this necessary surrender, to fully participate, before making a wrong turn you’ll shame yourself for later.
Think about what you’re doing, reflect or meditate upon what your motivations are, and allow yourself to participate… and drive.
