WEEKLY WRITE-UP•••
MAY 10-16th, 2021
Sensations of urgency are still piquing, impulses of authentic expression are still urging, and longing, and gaining traction, and needing nurturing… and opportunities for positivity and abundance are beckoning, amidst all of the chaos in all directions.
Maybe you’re privy to the knowledge that this week’s main event is Jupiter moving into Pisces for a sneak preview toward what’s in store for 2022 (as Jupiter will move back into Aquarius on July 28) when Jupiter officially begins its transit through the neptunian waters of psychic reverie…
However.
Please understand my translations aim to course-correct and properly inform beyond all the woo-woo bullshit you’re potentially reading about Jupiter moving into Pisces… ideas and ideals toward abundance and limitlessness, sure—but not without a price, a sacrifice, or even a risk.
Shamanic astrologer Raven Kaldera describes Jupiter in Pisces as compassionate, healing, and unconditional; however, “in order to heal, especially from a complex Pisces perspective where nothing is done the easy way, you must first heal yourself.”¹
Oh. There’s the catch. And, again, allow me to point out—yet another celestial signpost of personal accountability, or, as the late great astrologer Dane Rudhyar called it: transpersonal responsibility.
How many of us are actually interested in this concept?
Further, Kaldera shares that with Jupiter in Pisces, however lovely these energies might be, however compassionate and universally-minded and spiritual… that these energies “may get to a point where they literally do not know what it is they actually want, as opposed to what others think they ought to have, to do, or be… in order to get to a place of sympathetic identification that does not get so involved with others that the self is lost, Jupiter in Pisces has to do long periods of self-examination, preferably alone.”¹
Hmmm… even the pandemic hasn’t urged this compassion within the collective.
Continued, “[your] own wounds must be healed first, lest they merge with the wounds of others…”¹
Please let those words sink in a bit.
To put it bluntly: if you find yourself feeling badly for the plight of another—or if you’ve forgotten who you are or who you’re working to become—stop and think to yourself why, and honestly…
Is there an actual difference you can make within this sense of compassion beyond simply feeling through the emotions of this so-called compassion?—and are you actively working toward making these differences?—or is it only your ego going back to the morphine drip like a rat locked in a cage?
All of this virtue signaling and blame shaming—it’s gross, and detrimentally toxic.
Is this feeling of compassion true, and long-lasting? Or fleeting, and superficial?
The ego feels so sad and badly when directly confronted with homelessness, for example… and this egoic shame and fleeting, empty compassion conjures that hard-earned paper we’ve assigned value to, mostly, to eradicate these feelings of shame. Sure. But did this solve homelessness? Nope. Not in the slightest. Did it make an actual difference in any way, long-term? No.
But it makes you—er, your ego—feel better… for the moment. Ugh. This, my friends, is the underbelly of Jupiter in Pisces. All the hashtags in the world can’t fix the world’s problems and if that’s all we’ve got—trends and algorithms and hashtags and influencers—God help us all.
Without the key essence of this equation—the actually making a real difference detail—so-called compassion is the ego’s very sneaky and scandalous way of feeling relevant… and even necessary, or powerful. The ego, humanized.
The price of getting a grip and dealing with ourselves honestly and rationally far outweighs the seemingly misinformed ‘sacrifice’ it is thought to be… the real risk, then, is avoiding this most sacred relationship with self, been Self and Soul, and never really knowing who you are or what you’re actually capable of.
Without a sense of transpersonal responsibility—compassion is merely vogue.
Your reality might begin to feel a bit better this summer, sure—but do try to avoid the pitfalls of your own weaknesses… and the intoxicating ease of an egoic hashtag morphine drip.
If you really are being drawn to making a real difference, however—Now is the time to initiate an actual impact, and I share gratitude with you in advance for your selfless service to humanity.
Personal accountability, inevitably, will come—likely in late July and through October, when Jupiter moves back into Aquarius and inches its way back closer and closer to Saturn.
Debts will be due, vacancies will be accounted for.
❝Few things are so deadly as a misguided sense of compassion.❞

Taurus Balsamic Moon
—May 10
Extremely successful entrepreneur and author Robert Kiyosaki considers the biggest thief of all to be the concept of hope.
Kiyosaki writes “I often say ‘hope’ is a four-letter word—I say this because so often people hope and pray, but do not take action… people often mistake hoping as a form of action.”
Amen.
Kiyosaki considers that hoping and praying, without action, is “possibly the biggest mistake you can make—you can’t learn anything from it.”
Further, and perhaps most significantly, he adds that “hoping can often turn people into victims.”
Yes.
(Jupiter in Pisces, anyone?!—compassion/empathy turned Christ/savior complexes anyone?!)
And finally—Kiyosaki suggests that the first action one should take for oneself is to “hold oneself accountable.”
Bam.
Astrologer Dane Rudhyar expressed the same sort of notion through today’s illuminated degree, though he explained it through an idea he refers to as substantiation…
As “this inward-turned attention of the mind reveling in its own flowering… that part of the ego which craves direct participation with society and the world of other egos—fully to participate requires a special kind of substantiation—[where] the consciousness surveys possibilities; they are defined by organic nature (personal abilities) and by the ambition to succeed in society… the ego becomes aware of what society has to offer—its attention is turned outward—an interplay takes place between the individual and his culture; he is being molded by what he sees and by prospects for growth in social prestige.”²
The inward focus turned outward is key—it is the motivation toward action… this healthy egoic interplay is action.
❝Knowledge is power: You hear it all the time but knowledge is not power. It’s only potential power. It only becomes power when we apply it and use it. Somebody who reads a book and doesn’t apply it, they’re at no advantage over someone who’s illiterate. None of it works unless YOU work. We have to do our part. If knowing is half the battle, action is the second half of the battle.❞

Taurus New Moon at 21°18
By noon PDT; 1pm MDT; 2pm CDT; 3pm EDT
—May 11
Issues of security, grounding, and foundational improvements are illuminated through today’s new moon, as are the areas in which these ideas and ideals are needing some attention… and this detail may be a bit tricky.
Astrologer Diana McMahon Collis points out in TMA that this Taurean new moon is conjunct the Black Moon Lilith by one degree… that “this point represents a void, where we may feel we fundamentally lack something—yet is also a place from which creativity can spring… the void is formless; we may project something into it, or just experience the darkness of it, yet its creative potential can be exciting, if we are willing to allow it room to develop—we can bring forth something new from the dark space, rather than be engulfed by it.”
McMahon Collis describes the ‘bull in the china shop’ metaphor for the new moon, the clumsied messiness of it all—that we’ll inevitably make something of a mess with these new and unfamiliar opportunities… especially through the extremes embedded in between, “right now growth and creativity may, indeed, occur quite messily—the important thing is to embrace the Taurean urge to bring improvements in life or build on something, however messy it may be… handling this chaotic scenario may have an emotional and physical impact on us, but it will be more tolerable if we remember we are dealing with a work in progress.”
Indeed.
It is beneficial, too, to understand that several celestial factors—the building Gemini assembly all applying the North Node—are signaling rather pesky feelings of urgency, to act, to move, to speak, to share… to do something.
Yet.
There is a lack of substance surrounding these urges to act, to move, to speak, or to share. The fullness of your inner substance is not yet comprehensively understood…
This degree associates itself with “bridging two worlds; determination to impart an important message from a higher vibrational plane (though obnoxiously insistent); providing spiritual nourishment to a public that is starving for spiritual purpose; getting people on one’s wavelength; raising people’s vibrational levels (stirring up a bee’s nest); attacking social myths by weaving counter-mythologies or fantasies from lucidly recalled mental impressions… gaining a transcendent, if alien, perspective on a difficult worldly situation.”³
If you don’t know who you are, and/or are living from a place of fear… as these two ideas sort of immerse themselves… you might be resisting something—even the idea of something!—rather stubbornly, and are thereby unavailable to receive.
Today’s energies may be showing “the need for hope and help—to be delivered to those who need it… although there may be trouble all around, you will be able to rise above it and find safe ground.”⁴
There’s this sense of hope again… but without action, hope it’s but a desperate thought.
However.
This hope is offered… by “flying straight and fearlessly, a message to stay on course, to go straight ahead and don’t worry about what’s happening around you…”
Forward motion, in action.
Something within you is striving for a connection… whether it is a feeling, an urge, an expression of self, a thought, or a need.
What’s messier, after all, than acting through a feeling you’re learning to understand?—especially if you’ve previously tried to resist it.
❝Whether you have truth it must be given with love, or the message and the messenger will be rejected.❞

Gemini Crescent Moon
—May 12
Today’s moon connects to Venus through the fifth degree of Gemini, a degree which associates itself to “the explosive tendency of repressed feelings and root emotions.”²
Here we are being beckoned to take action. You’re feeling it…
However.
This degree is forewarning that “every movement overstressing one direction calls forth in time an equally extreme movement in the opposite direction… what is rigidly bound in form and convention tends to explode into formlessness—it may do so violently if socially oppressed—through revolution—or at the psychological level in psychosis; or it may withdraw inwardly into the mystical state in which one identifies with an unformulatable Reality.”²
In other words, “you may be motivated for change, and getting the attention of those around you may require radical and even abrasive action… perhaps you are having difficulty with someone who is being noisy, disruptive, demanding or looking to cause change—whichever, this issue is most likely overblown and exaggerated in some way; there may be a lot of dramatic action and overreaction to what is said or done.”⁴
Especially in regard to what has only recently been learned or informed through Monday’s Mercury/North Node conjunction, or yesterday’s new moon… there is definitely a desire to be heard, to share your message, to express yourself.
On this note—news headlines might be a bit edgier…

Gemini Crescent Moon
—May 13
Today the moon moves into a connection with Mercury, just beyond the North Node, through a degree that associates itself with “the need to clarify one’s experiences through actual contacts with like-minded individual… this demands a ‘clean’ and open mind eager to test what is experienced in an exchange of views with one’s peers…”²
Again, you might be feeling a heavy need to talk something out, or to ask questions—with those you respect and appreciate—or you may be on the receiving end of much questioning, or sharing… but try to keep it simple.
Either way, objectivity is necessary—in regard to actionable purpose…
What is your motivating objective?
What is the objective of your ideals?
What is this authentic Truth you’re seeking?
Knowing your objective will support the clarification of your needs, desires, or motivations.
Furthermore, today may offer complications on this note; for example, “try not to look for or create any unnecessary complications… getting a grip on life’s lessons will enlighten and enrich everyone in this situation.”⁴
A renegotiation may be necessary, and/or more animated use of the imagination, cooperating with others through teamwork, and manifesting visions vis a vis practical methodologies.
Whatever your circumstances—keep it simple.

Gemini/Cancer Crescent Moon
—May 14
Let’s remember that Jupiter is now in Pisces, and today’s moon illuminates it for the first time by a trine from the cardinal zero degree of Cancer… change is being born, quite literally, for better or worse.
The moon moves into Cancer early in the evening on the west coast* and moves most of the day, then, void of course in Gemini, likely resulting in high potentials for restlessness, listlessness, daunting ambivalence, and/or busied busyness.
This back-and-forth might be conceivable for a Gemini moon, but a Cancer moon will not be impressed…
A Cancer moon also doesn’t gleefully volunteer for change—but begrudgingly submits, resentfully, through many many very lateral moves… a trine connection may inspire whatever change is upon you to be a smidge more cooperative—but lateral and begrudging may be instilled.

Cancer Crescent Moon
—May 15
The full scope of anything, today, opens for expansion if you’re open to a certain level of flexibility… even the human spine is miraculously flexible.
Again, a Cancer moon isn’t typically offering much in regard to flexibility…
There’s a rigidity and heaviness about today and so receptivity is key, which lunarly responses through Cancer are familiar with—and emotional resiliency—a breathing in and out is necessary, however… flexibility.
Both Mercury and Venus, remember, are now very much within the degree of Gemini—a most flexible energy—and so thoughts and feelings alike could be much more cooperative, communicative, open-minded, and/or receptive to necessary changes, shifts, or adaptations and alternatives… still, any receptivity actually offered may experience an ultimate disconnect thereof: Gemini energies receive without emotion while Cancer energies receive only through emotion.
Astrologer Dane Rudhyar explains that, “in fact, it is by being receptive that we can truly be powerful and have a positive influence on those around us… a strong sense of determination and a desire to impress others [is inclined]—however, if this sense of strong determination does not come accompanied by the ability to compromise and listen, it will only create the potential for problems.”²
There may have to be a bit of compromise between emotional give-and-take and back-and-forth… strength of character, above all, is the backbone of everything, and however strong your determination is, or feels… you will get further if you bend.
❝I work from awkwardness. By that I mean don’t like to arrange things. If I stand in front of something, instead of arranging it, I arrange myself.❞

★Sunday Forecast
Cancer Crescent Moon
—May 16
Oracular overviews today describe a “much deeper situation than imagined…”⁴
Continued, “there is probably no immediate escape from the turbulence that is happening—you may have had some forewarning that this [metaphorical] storm was coming… with pressure piling up, threatening to explode at any moment—you may have had no intention or made no particular movements to invoke this ‘storm’, however it’s out of hand in your environment nonetheless.”⁴
Practicing patience and waiting it all out would be best… the storm blowing itself out or through naturally—and the metaphorical sun may not come back out for awhile, or be noticed in its light until later, likely transmogrified by May 19th through the first quarter moon, in Leo, conveniently…
It will, however, all fall into place.
Have faith in this, in the turbulence, in the storm itself even—but most importantly, have faith in yourself through it all… new realities are emerging through these circumstances, and getting a grip or grounding within yourself throughout it all, despite it all, is essential.
