Gemini Gibbous Moon —February 9

Yesterday’s first quarter moon offered potential toward opportunity—as well as some directly firsthand examples of how flurried and frenzied and frustrated Uranian energies can be, and the influence three energies are capable of.

Let me guess—anything you had planned yesterday didn’t go as planned? Further, anything you preferred in any way… these preferences, however ordinary, weren’t as easily come by either, right?

Realistically, any decision of commitment toward change you may have seriously and soberly considered—this decision of commitment, essentially, should provoke something within the sector of your reality that Taurus governs in your chart, to ‘slice the pie’ accordingly… what section of your life does Taurus govern?

Otherwise, it’ll likely be unnecessarily irritating change… because, well, these energies.

These are very real questions to ask yourself—and well worth your time to do so, particularly as the moon moves into Gemini, and questions are both needing to be asked—and much more quickly emerging into your awareness as the corresponding necessity arises to be honestly confronted; very real and raw questions need your focus and attention now.

This change, should you be committed to actually making one, allow me to ask you… what are you—and I’m specifically not using the word ‘hoping’ here, because there’s no hoping at this time—what are you envisioning will come about from these changes made of your own freewill?

Are you, or have you been, however unconsciously, working against your own best interests?—if so, why?

In all honesty—these several essential questions might be as much as you can take on right now, especially if you’re honest with yourself… a Gemini moon becomes overwhelmed quite quickly—particularly when questions turn emotional/expectant, or irrational/illogical, or overly egoic/defensive in Nature; Geminian energies find these matters somewhat tedious and exhausting… as they are now.

In fact, even further, today may be somewhat open to distractions—if so, try to navigate yourself around them, and try not to pay them too much mind… or, for those of you uninterested in real change or self-improvement—by all means, distract yourself!

Today’s energies lend themselves toward open-mindedness, sure, and there are so many ideas and opportunities to consider at the moment, I know, I get it… but there is a very seriously toned and heavy need for courage, as well here—as these changes, or, at least the necessary changes within your environmental reality, will call for much more than simply your decision to commit yourself to whatever it is, whatever is beyond your preferences or comfort zone.

Astrologer Dane Rudhyar transcribed these energies as requiring “a superior ability to challenge nature and play with danger…”

These energies are requiring balance…

Again, this isn’t a wish, or a whimsical meditation toward an intention for ‘true love’ or ‘more money’ or ‘self-fulfillment’ or any of that woo woo fluffy babble that gets you feeling empowered for maybe an hour and fades (although, this might delight the Gemini moon; ie distractions!!!)…

These energies all around you are also occurring within you.

Either you’ll get this, or you won’t—it’s that simple. Either you’ll make the necessary changes and change your lot, or you won’t.

It’s also properly behooving to you to remember that Mercury governs today’s moon and Mercury is applying a third and final conjunction to Pluto—to be exact February 11th, and the moon will still be in Gemini—and so it is important to both realize and understand the actual depths and hidden weights, as well as the actual weight and hidden depth, of what changes you’re truly and devotedly considering…

Shamanic astrologer Raven Kaldera suggests you be ruthless with yourself on this moon… what and where is the “unnecessary fluff that can be pruned away?… what’s the best way to [commit to your change]?”

Again. Your decision to commit to a change is your word—and with Pluto involved: your honor… it would be my astrological guidance to take this dreadfully seriously.

This is a personal responsibility at this point… and you owe it to yourself to make these necessary changes.

Most of what we say and do is not essential. If you can eliminate it, you’ll have more time, and more tranquility. Ask yourself at every moment, ‘is this necessary?’
