Aries Crescent Moon
—April 1

As yesterday’s new moon in Aries connected to Chiron in conjunction by a single degree, Chironic matters are very much emerging, as well, alongside, in tandem, with all the potentials and possibilities…

Knowing today’s forecast was lunarly application to Pluto, without actual aspect until early tomorrow—I chose to get into the Chironic details today, keeping yesterday’s post mostly upbeat and encouraging.

Despite today’s moon no longer dwelling within desperation—seeing clearly continues to be quite important, if not crucial…

These Chironic/Martian wounds and past pains that could be emerging now are not new, but likely emerging from deep, deep, deeply conditioned childhood haunts or previous breakage, or otherwise matters never entirely processed—and these hurts of all shapes and sizes may very well be emerging from whatever sector of your life is governed by Aries, either disrupting this area of your chart surreptitiously or actually stemming from these origins and being reactivated.

Further, these pains could be actual hurts, as in physical hurts, as in brokenness of bones, or dis-ease within the physical body…

As with anything Aries, Mars is the natural ruler—and matters of muscle memory and heart, conditioning, impatiently avoiding anything painful, and both inner and outer wounding… Mars can be quite abrasive, and just a smidge unforgiving.

The struggle, or challenge, mentioned yesterday… in reference to this—could these Aries-ruled issues be blocking or sabotaging, or be otherwise creating obstacles, your Aquarian-inspired emerging newness?

This is an opportunity to see clearly… and Aries energies are notoriously—for better or worse—brutally and ruthlessly honest.

If anything hurts, acknowledge it and be honest about it—and be honest with yourself about its origins… getting at the source, directly and simply, will be the pathway that offers antidote and relief, if not entire recovery.

So I realize that not all of you are particularly stoked about all the newness surrounding you—because the newness might be confronting you to also move forward when you’re currently unwilling for whatever reason you might have, or maybe it’s because the newness challenges you beyond your vulnerabilities, or your pain, and you’re not ready to relinquish it because it’s yours…

More on all of this tomorrow—because the moon will square Pluto in the morning.

What happens when people open their hearts? They get better.❞

Aries New Moon at 11°31′
—March 31

Balsamic energies continue to dominate the day, though the moon now moves through Aries…

Today’s moon, however, remains balsamic until very late, or really early tomorrow morning*—and when the moon is balsamic in Aries it can manifest as a continued restlessness, but not nebulously restless, like in Pisces; in Aries it feels much more impatiently agitated… like having to stop at the longest red light ever in the middle of absolute nowhere, with no one around, in the middle of a night so dark it’s construction paper black—but you stop anyway, because it’s the ‘right’ thing to do.

Symbolically speaking, today’s energies truly honor the notions of rebirth: to be reborn, something no longer thriving with life-pulse is either forsaken, surrendered, lost, or it’s already dying.

A balsamic Aries moon is, essentially, broken—damaged, compromised, and desperate…

A balsamic Aries moon is desperate for inspiration… for drive.

For potential.

For direction.

More likely than not—whatever newness you’re experiencing in your personal reality has been emerging for some time, likely since mid-February, and just unable to truly bloom—as Venus was besieged… and now you’re beginning to see the metaphorical buds for eventual bloom.

And this would suggest, then, that the section of your nativity that is governed by Aquarius is where the new emergences are occurring for you.

This is where, within your chart, you’re feeling inspiration, drive, potentials, and direction…

Also, interestingly, before today’s moon even connects to the sun it applies Mercury the entire day, and meets it in conjunction first through the tenth degree of Aries, a degree which associates itself with ‘new dimensions breaking old thought forms or behaviors…’

This lunarly connection to Mercury is nearly literally translating an encouragement to rewrite the past.

As astrologer Dane Rudhyar transcribed, a “revision of attitude at the beginning of a new cycle of experience.”

Further, “things may need a new interpretation to bring [one] up to speed with today’s thinking… this may lead to realizations you have never even considered or imagined—the message here is to allow yourself to be creative and look for modern answers, seeing things in a different light or from a different angle.”

This energy is largely, and aggressively, about ‘having faith that one sees things clearly; seeing through false appearances—especially on a political level; and exploring a new facet of one’s personality…’

But you must begin seeing clearly.

And these energies are totally about “leaving behind previous life restraints and constraints, to spread your wings…”

When the moon finally meets up with the sun in conjunction for the new moon, it falls within the second decan of Aries, and this is a decan that influences something of a struggle toward potentials…

This decan, as referenced from astrologer Austin Coppock, is one of virtue, because it’s associated to the 3 of Wands, which perpetuates the dynamic between virtues and vices and how these are habits of our choice which will continue to define one’s path… yet, it too perpetuates the struggle—albeit one of opportunity rather than inherent struggle… but, it’s all relative, isn’t it?

Still, the 3 of Wands does, nevertheless, point to struggle toward ‘changes and challenges that lie ahead…’

Changes and challenges are ahead… as are new beginnings and new ideas, and new levels of being and living and loving and feeling—as Chiron is in conjunction to the new moon by a degree—and opportunities to rewrite your past, in a courageous effort to forge forward toward your new potentials are but waiting for you to see.

It isn’t where you came from; it’s where you’re going that counts.❞

Pisces Balsamic Moon
—March 30

Much is to be felt today.

While transcribing ‘the signs’ for today’s forecast I even began to feel a bit—and then more and more so—refreshingly giddy…

The kind of giddy I feel when a Fleetwood Mac song comes on.

The kind of giddy, likely, many of us feel this time of year, when new ideas and notions are emerging and new experiences and potentials are beckoning, and new consciousness is begging to be embraced…

It’s, of course, still very much a Piscean balsamic moon—and even tomorrow’s new moon in Aries isn’t, quite contrarily to popular woo woo opinion, an auspicious day to set new goals or proclaim new intentions… though April 5th looks good.

Still, obviously, it largely depends upon what it is you’re wanting to begin… if you’re not needing something to last, hold, withstand, or endure—sure, go ahead and begin on the new moon; it’ll be exciting while it lasts!

But, nevertheless, there’s some kind of feeling of newness in the air—do you feel it!?

Do you feel the kind of giddy that goes with blooming possibilities and blossoming potentials?

I dwell in possibility…

Pisces Balsamic Moon
—March 29

The moon moves all day without aspecting anything—and when the moon does this in the sign of Pisces, it can influence the energies toward listlessness, nebulousness, restlessness, and boundarilessness…

It’s also a moon in Pisces moving through its balsamic phase—which suggests, as it is the final moon within a final phase, that all is well beyond you at this point I’m afraid and all there is left to do is surrender to this notion… today is a moon shamanic astrologer Raven Kaldera suggests that “we pray, or meditate, or go to a moving religious ritual, or find some other way to experience All That Is…”

In a way, today’s energies are offering something of an entrancement toward the potentials and possibilities up ahead, after the Aries new moon—upon the (re)birthing of something new or reemergence or reviving of something broken-through within the process of personal evolving…

The two rulers of Pisces—Jupiter and Neptune—are both moving through Pisces, through the twentieth and twenty-third degrees, respectively, and will conjoin exactly on April 12th at 23°59′ Pisces… just a friendly reminder for that—from the upcoming Aries new moon through the middle of April should be quite awakening, reviving, dazzling, and inspiring indeed.

The moon will only get to the fifteenth degree of Pisces today, connecting to both Jupiter and Neptune in conjunction tomorrow, and so today will likely begin building an emphasis toward both such a lunarly conjunction, as well as illuminating some potentials or possibilities toward the eventual Jupiter/Neptune conjunction—which the moon will oppose, from Virgo, its separation on April 14th.

The energies, then, will begin to both influence and inspire ‘isolated pursuits of truth; having to figure things out for yourself; intellectual resourcefulness; building on a solid foundation of what one knows from personal experience and experiment, apart from common (alienated) belief; reevaluating your place in the world; and disillusioning clarifications…’

Also, more of the same energy from yesterday’s lunarly illumination upon Venus and Saturn could continue to hold its grip, as this conjunction is exact today.

‘The truth…’ Dumbledore sighed, ‘it is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution.’

Aquarius/Pisces Balsamic Moon—March 28

Today Venus moves beyond Saturn—and thereby out of besiegement—but not before the moon illuminates their conjunction.

This conjunction occurs through a degree associated to comfort and care, and having a place of belonging… and perhaps most importantly, a sense of security; and this alone allows Saturn to make sense within this arrangement by degree. Awareness, too, enters into this—the awarenesses necessary toward what is necessary to allow these very concepts and suggestions to even be possible.

Depending upon the ways in which Venus’ besiegement and its symbolisms and manifestations were represented for you, personally, these will be related toward today’s lunarly illuminated Venus/Saturn conjunction as suggested thereby; concepts of quality will emerge, as will maturity and integrity, lonely yearnings to connect, and either defending or defensive (emotional) boundaries.

It’s possible, too, that whatever the moon triggered yesterday, through its transiting illumination between Mars and Uranus, too, remains quite potently vexing…

Knowing the right time to act, now, too, is extraordinarily key.

It is possible that something, or someone, somewhere, is ‘stirring up’ something, manipulating the energies, and the agendas and meanings, truths, and actuality… the last possible twinges of Venus escaping its besiegement—yearning desperately for comforts and care, a place to be, to be real and true, to be whole and sovereign, with some semblance of security… ultimately, to trust, or not to trust—this is truly the dilemma, plain and simply.

Leo Tolstoy once wrote, “if, then, I were asked for the most important advice I could give, that which I considered to be the most useful to the men of our century, I should simply say: in the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you…”

Indeed. Forevermore.

Further, upon the point of acting—as well as struggling with issues of trust, boundaries, security, awareness, basic comforts and standards—this is a moon, for the majority of the day on the west coast, as well as the entire day on the east coast and beyond, that is moving through Aquarius in its balsamic phase; this is a moon shamanic astrologer Raven Kaldera states that “we look to the future and think about how it might be…”

With the moon in Saturn-ruled Aquarius, illuminating Saturn holding tightly tightly tightly its last grip on Venus, in Aquarius—there’s a heavy lot of Saturn energy today… and this can be quite heavy, overwhelming, oppressive, weighted, costly, obstructive or just harshly punishing, particularly for the more feeling-natured types—the future may not look exactly sparkly today.

Perhaps this awareness, through this degree of import, which today’s illumination occurs through—perhaps this awareness is to reality check the realness of potentials, probables, and possibilities, be they advantageous or harshly realistic.

However—then again—astrologer Dane Rudhyar transcribed this degree through a lens of appreciation; as “the warmth of understanding which comes to those who, early in life, are open to new possibilities…”

Again—awareness. And, through Saturn, preparation and respect for cycles and evolutionary flexibility.

Rudhyar states that “man is never left without assistance when eagerly seeking to grow emotionally and spiritually… even if he does not consciously realize the intent and value of what sustains his self-development and cushions the shocks which life provides his growth in understanding, still the assistance is there—he may think: no one understands me, but the understanding is there if he does not egotistically take for granted that life and society owe him everything.”

And with Saturn—life and society owe no one anything… and there’s no crying in baseball.

Either way, whichever way your personal reality is emerging for you—today is about the differentiations and boundaried dynamics between awareness and disillusionment, and the consequences thereof and toward everything in between.

The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.

Aquarius Balsamic Moon—March 27

Once again the moon squares Uranus, as it did back on February 28th—though this time the moon squares through the next degree as Uranus has moved a single degree within this time…

This degree bespeaks anticipation, according to astrologer Dane Rudhyar, and an awareness of cyclic processes, and so today is very much being influenced for advanced preparations.

There’s a glitch.

What preparing, exactly, would one anticipate?—and toward this I would incline to wherever Taurus governs your chart, as this is where Uranus is currently transiting for you… but to prepare for anything Uranian is possibly the definition of ridiculous, as it is precisely how Uranus doesn’t operate—which is why astrologers speak of its unpredictability.

Further, the moon moves on to connect to Mars in conjunction, illuminating the recent Mars/Uranus square from March 22nd… but because Mars has moved on to a later degree, a degree that not only perpetuates pre-planning and preparation—but protection, and it’s Mars, as this should need no further translation.

So I wonder if today will offer a bit of volatility in some capacity, particularly toward any circumstances from last week…

Furthermore, despite Mars having already separated from Uranus in square, today’s moon is illuminating its own lunarly square between the two, suggesting its own volatility of sorts… the type that asserts its own need for preparatory precautions—and, most pertinently, beckons you to ‘have the mental discipline to hold fear, greed, and lust at bay within [your] self, so [you] can meet them without fear in the outside world…’

Capricorn/Aquarius Balsamic Moon—March 26

The spark that occurs within, between consciousness and unconsciousness… the spark that is ignited seemingly out of nowhere, out of thin air, out of clockworks—this spark is what radiates today’s energies.

This time—the spark is contained… its metaphorical embers flicker with potential.

Capricorn Balsamic Moon
—March 25

Today’s translations inspire what astrologer Dane Rudhyar transcribed as “a stage beyond life itself…”

Further, today offers an ‘adventure in consciousness’… as “the subjective quest for ultimates beyond the interplay of life and death processes” is unraveling before us, Rudhyar described this degree as ‘a fire worshipper meditat[ing] on the ultimate realities of existence…’

No pressure.

Furthermore, and then some, “the ability to explore unfamiliar realms and discover the laws underlying the complex processes of nature” is both available and abound, ultimately, so that one may demonstrate one’s will to transcendence… should one be open to participating.

No pressure.

This give and take, between oneself and the cosmos, the cosmic clockworks, the universe, the universal heartbeat… is a living, breathing force in and of itself, and should be treated as such—and your participation, in relationship, to your own soul could be both most graciously honored and wholly nurtured, and, in turn, most thoroughly celestially supported, through divinely aligned and individuated conquest.

What’s required for such feats and fancies?! Trust. Will. Intestinal fortitude. And… maybe some shameless moxie.

No pressure.

Grace under pressure…❞

Capricorn Last Quarter Moon at 4°33′
—March 24

Much of the astrological theory regarding why Sagittarians typically fail to fully embrace or realize their celestial potential, in reference to yesterday’s post, is in direct regard to Capricorn and Saturn…

For instance, those with Sagittarius rising have Capricorn, and thereby default—Saturn, ruling their second house of finances and foundational livelihood… ugh; hard work will always be demanded and that which is seemingly ‘free’ or ‘given’ will likely always come with strings—this tends to put quite the damper upon a typical Jupiterian exuberance or Sagittarian fun-loving perspective.

If Capricorn is at all in the first house, or one was born in early to mid-December, opposed to November p—a really harsh childhood is highly probable.

The more Sagittarian presence within the twelfth house—one’s potential is nearly literally not seen or acknowledged…

Further, a solar Sagittarius, natively within any house, will potentially live through thirty heavy years of progressed Capricorn at some point in their lifetime, depending upon the degree they were born at, etc etc… there’s truly no escaping it.

It’s no wonder, then, that the ‘true’ archetypal Sagittarius role is reserved for literature and drama, documentaries, and autobiographies—they’ve earned it—it’s as though these individuals instinctively understand that they need to go out and claim the reward; the average human rarely pursues such adventurous notoriety… or infamy.

When Sagittarians read the woo woo magazines or horoscopes and are irresponsibly encouraged that they’re ‘so lucky’, you know, because Jupiter, and all that other conveniently toxic positivity stuff—this is but one of the unfortunate disservices of modernly mis-practiced astrology.

My point, however, is more toward the very real reality that wherever Sagittarius is in your chart—Capricorn immediately follows…

What does that mean?

It means that whatever idealistic rose-colored lens you were previously or recently looking through—is now requiring your aggressive participation toward actually actualizing your goals… and not just sitting on your misinformed laurels that luck or hope or wishing will manifest all your happiness for you, as any woo woo horoscope article will inform you… because it doesn’t work like that, not quite.

Capricorn energies demand not only your participation—but your actual manual, emotional, rational, and physical efforts, in every minute of every day, toward actualizing any goal or dream into a true reality… no more dreaming—only doing.

Today is split between a wandering, flowing Sagittarius disseminating moon energy and a motivated and determined Capricorn last quarter moon vibe, shifting at some point in between*… and maybe you’ll actually feel the motivations within beginning to surge—the adrenaline beginning to activate what was previously somewhat dormant or unassuming, taken for granted, or oblivious.

Maybe, just maybe, you’ll feel an inner conflict motivate an urgency within yourself to do something—anything—contain something, control something, manage something…

When energies shift between Sagittarius and Capricorn—it is much like strategically focused containment…

If I may suggest a visual example to inspire a more accurate understanding—it is as if an innocent enough and necessary control burn becomes uncontrolled and swiftly turns into a quickly moving forest fire, devastating an entire mountain range… and then it’s successfully contained, controlled, and managed. Much toil and sweat and tears are involved in firefighting—there’s only dreaming of containment, and only doing doing doing until it’s a reality.

In fact, the Capricorn degree through which today’s last quarter moon occurs associates itself to aggressiveness… and ‘the mobilization of physical and emotional energies in a spirit of conquest…’

Conquest. Now there’s an ideal.

Exactly what the typical archetypal Sagittarian stance stands for and/or wanders for, remaining unattached and available for anything, any conquest—be it their own, or, likely, someone else’s—but is rarely prepared for—because, hopes are hopelessly vacant—until the actualization through Capricorn is strenuously and painfully processed.

Bold decisiveness is needed now when looking into the future…

In fact, you may have noticed through other planetary alignments beyond the moon’s influencing, that life is beginning to get a little busy?—a bit more hectic than it was only weeks ago?—and thank goodness we have a go-getter stellium in Aquarius between Saturn, Venus, and Mars… and not in Sagittarius.

Time management is key.

Today’s last quarter moon occurs through the first decan of Capricorn, a decan devoted to groundedness and rootedness… as astrologer Austin Coppock expresses, “figures which roam this decan can root deeply into what soil they find themselves in, yet for this very reason location is critical.”

This decan can represent a change of location, or destination, or circumstance… Coppock continues, “it is ultimately a matter of spirit, floating free, selecting the section of the world in which the drama of its incarnation will take place, and then taking root according to the law of the soul chosen.”

How very Sagittarius-turned-Capricorn, yes!?

This is not a lunarly event to set intentions, but to solidify and/or crystallize your ongoing visions, ideals, plans, and goals in an effort to further actualize these into reality…

Think back to high school. It was always the ‘cool kids’ (mind you, not the popular kids, but the ones you find intriguing) that were always seemingly unavailable, always unattached, always ambivalent, and faraway, and philosophizing the likes of paper clips… these kids were likely Sagittarians, and they likely have little to materially show for themselves today, because they probably spent much of their adulthood wandering, traveling, and romancing every opportunity—all, on a whim.

Whereas the Capricorn kids—the ones endlessly earning all the awards and likely graduating early, the one’s who had an after school job as soon as it was legal—they’ve been saving every penny they’ve ever earned since they were four, and this is likely, sadly, accurate… they have every degree, which automatically lends you toward higher income potentials, which typically bolsters your confidence enough to easily demand more, to demand one’s worth, and is retiring at 55, because, you know, why not?—and Capricorn natives typically grow younger as they get older, like Benjamin Button, so by the time they have the time, they’re so much more fun (not to mention, potentially, by this time they’ll be enjoying a progressed Pisces easy-does-it sun)…

The difference between Sagittarius and Capricorn, then, obviously—beyond essential energy—is choice… and further, and I think this nails it—the flexibility required when dealing with the unexpected and unpredictable.

The 2 of Pentacles in the tarot is associated with the first decan of Capricorn, and thereby today’s last quarter moon… a card which represents preparation—preparation for big things, and the balance it requires to pull everything off.

Because it’s the unexpected, and the unpredictable, that create the very makings of a conquest.

Capricornian energies can break many of us… but if you can endure them—this is when the reward, and the ‘luck’, is ultimately granted… though it’s not typically a rewarding type of luck any self-respecting Sagittarian would ever know what to do with.

As you continue moving forwardly upon your conquest, now, look up ahead—the moon will soon move into Aquarius, illuminating the currently moving stellium there—don’t expect anything to go as planned, especially as Venus remains besieged.

Maturity begins with the capacity to sense and, in good time and without defensiveness, admit to our own craziness; if we are not regularly deeply embarrassed by who we are, the journey to self-knowledge hasn’t begun.

Sagittarius Disseminating Moon—March 23

I’ve never met a ‘true’ or ‘archetypically authentic’ Sagittarius… to understand Sagittarius I’ve always needed to refer to the classics, to literature, or to the movies—where it is portrayed shamelessly and seemingly endlessly…

And what I mean by archetypically authentic, meaning the ‘textbook’ example thereof—even a most vaguely rudimentary example of Sagittarian energies, particularly with the sun in Sagittarius, but even the moon, or the rising…

What I’m trying to say, then, is that I’ve never met a Sagittarian in real life who is thoroughly living their celestial potential.

All of this being said, those with Venus in Sagittarius, however, typically understand what they’re working with… while those with Mars in Sagittarius might possibly be the most conflicted of all, especially if they lack a constructive outlet.

Then I learned more about Jupiter. But that’s another post.

Today’s energies involve idealism—voicing them, defiantly declaring them, trumpeting them…

How much more Sagittarian could you get?! Well… sort of.

Clearly realizing your ideals, more importantly, is what today’s really about, and this is something Sagittarian energies could behoove more of…

Astrologer Dane Rudhyar also emphasized the concept of ‘annunciation’, meaning ‘to announce’, from the Latin origins, ‘to make known’…

However, there is still a mighty notion toward caution.

The caution, perhaps, then, defines a circumstance where it is much more important to clarify and define, to take specificity seriously, and to understand the gravely dramatic difference between an ideal and a dream, between a goal and a hope… that hoping is mostly a projection, really, and mostly a large waste of valuable time.

The caution, specifically, is in not settling for less than your ideal simply because something else might be what’s currently available…

Further, it might “be necessary to take into account the reality of seasonal fluctuations… the importance of thinking about what will be needed or useful in the future, or at least making the best possible use of available materials to provide what is needed when it is needed.”

Ultimately—thinking ahead, as in forward thinking… this is very much the essence of today’s energies.

But perhaps even more so—today’s energies are challenging you to acknowledge potential.

I wonder, then, too, if the caution being forewarned is really in regard to not acknowledging potential?

While the moon is in Sagittarius, try to encompass your entire potential—as well as the potential your potential potentially has, and to examine your ideals in a more clarified, more discerningly, more critical manner.

Try to think ahead further, and further still, and more strategically, and to plan somewhat defensively… and to actually acknowledge what could be.

Try to understand the difference between an ideal and a dream… and the difference between what’s merely available—and what’s potentially possible.

Furthermore and ultimately, try to actualize these potentials, even in the smallest of ways… particularly you Sagittarians wink wink and maybe someday I’ll watch the documentary, haha

Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.❞ ——Japanese proverb
