Aquarius Gibbous Moon

There is a particularly disorienting moment in life when you finally get what you thought you wanted: nothing behind you has enough authority to tell you what comes next.

The Aquarius gibbous moon begins with the peculiar sensation that the old map has become historically interesting but geographically useless. Something may have moved beyond retrieval—not necessarily a person or circumstance, but an identity, expectation, ambition, allegiance, or former definition of success.

You can’t quite go back.

The good news is that you aren’t supposed to.
The harder news is that the future hasn’t bothered to install road signs.

This can produce an irresistible urge to make something definitive… we would occasionally rather have a disappointing certainty than an exhilarating unknown—at least disappointment knows where the furniture goes.

But today’s first invitation is remarkably sophisticated: don’t decide too quickly what this opening means…

You may be standing inside possibility before it has acquired a recognizable shape—and there is tremendous creative force here: ideas arrive oversized, confidence swells… something inside wants to make, perform, announce, invent, risk, dazzle, and generally arrive wearing a cape.

Wonderful.

Just make sure the cape isn’t driving because the next movement of the day brings us face-to-face with whatever our enthusiasm conveniently forgot to pack.

Blind spots have an irritating talent for requesting aisle seats…

Something avoided, dismissed, rationalized, or left conveniently unexamined may become impossible to ignore. Not as punishment—but because you cannot build a genuinely different future using the same unconscious loopholes.

This is where the day becomes useful.

The contradiction appears.
The missing piece emerges.
The thing you didn’t particularly want to know introduces itself.

And instead of destroying the possibility, it may make it viable…

Later, the atmosphere softens considerably: perspective returns, humor becomes medicinal—you may discover that not every ridiculous part of yourself requires rehabilitation, some things simply need enough room to become ridiculous all the way through.

Let the impulse reveal itself.

Let the fantasy talk.

Let the little drama perform its one-wo/man show with costumes and refreshments… sometimes we stop being controlled by something not by fighting it, but by seeing it completely.

By day’s end, the Aquarius moon grows quieter, moving void, leaving us in wonderfully uncharted territory…

In 1884, Edwin Abbott Abbott published the wonderfully strange little novella Flatland.

Its inhabitants live in two dimensions. They understand forward and backward, left and right. Their entire civilization has been constructed around what can exist on a flat plane… the one resident encounters something impossible: a third dimension.

At first, he cannot comprehend it.

From inside his established reality, the new dimension doesn’t merely seem unfamiliar… it seems absurd. That distinction matters today.

Sometimes what we call impossible is merely something our current vocabulary cannot accommodate, and perhaps the most interesting question beneath this Aquarius moon isn’t: How do I make the future make sense?
