Astrologer Dane Rudhyar would say of today, “the show is over—now comes the hour of decision…”
However, as the moon moves somewhat laterally into Cancer this afternoon, there’s potential for the sentimentality of our mistakes and preferences to quite supremely, still laughably irrationally, take over—there’s potential, though, to attempt a shameless justification of e) all of the above… whatever might make you feel better, for now.
Of course this makes little actual sense…
Nor will this self-serving justification prove beneficial to you.
Be wary of the martyred motherly smothering inclinations that excuse ‘love’ from selfishness, or codependency.
Be wary of feeling as though ultra-sensitivity is some sort of superpower or virtue. It’ll crush you today.
Be wary of any preference toward victimhood… the universe doesn’t exactly care if you’re comfortable—we’re here to experience all of it… and move on, and forward—we’re not supposed to cling or linger or dwell.
Be wary, also, of excuses and emotion-based ‘reasoning’, as these will delight your ego, sure, but only guide you backward, or, with any luck—sideways.
If you’re already living your ideals—what is sideways offering you? Maybe a moment of reflection, or to experience sheer presence…
If you’re still struggling—you’re doing something wrong, and sideways will only keep you there… and, it’s likely your preferences that have perpetuated you struggle. Just a thought.
These new experiences you’re needing to experience—these will require more than your participation, they will demand your flexibility… and your willingness to reorient and realign yourself toward the silouette of this newer version of You.
Rudhyar would suggest, here, that “one argues with oneself, hoping to convince oneself that the old impulses are still legitimate.”
Further, “hesitancy and conflicting motives are still inevitable—the mind is very clever at not facing the consequences which follow from desires or even from restlessness… attempts at rationalization are experienced and should be understood.”
❝Crying is all right in its way while it lasts. But you have to stop sooner or later, and then you still have to decide what to do.❞ ——C.S. Lewis
So, whatever ways of thinking about yourself or the world at large you motivated yourself to throw out from yesterday—you’ll want to talk about it today… but don’t expect anyone to take you too seriously.
Whatever your thoughts or feelings are—these will need to be quite convincing… as astrologer Dane Rudhyar would say, “its inertial resistance to change has to be overcome.”
Maybe try talking less about these new experiences you need to be experiencing and—directly experience them.
❝Unaccustomed to direct experience, we can come to fear it. We don’t want to read a book or see a museum show until we’ve read the reviews so that we know what to think. We lose the confidence to perceive ourselves. We want to know the meaning of an experience before we have it. We become frightened of direct experience, and we will go to elaborate lengths to avoid it.❞ ——Michael Crichton
A gentle reminder: through these new and awakening days of Air we are being challenged to change the ways in which we think about EVERYTHING, particularly in matters involved within the houses these planetary influences are transiting for you…
Especially after yesterday’s sun/Mercury conjunction in Leo, through a degree that resembles a ‘creative and inspired individual open to the spirit that ‘makes everything new’…’
A Gemini moon in its balsamic phase is connecting to the North Node through a degree that astrology Dane Rudhyar associated with the idea that “the mind of man is essentially a trans-piercing power; it goes through the object toward which it is aimed… it seeks to go through and beyond the obstacles on its path, and this usually implies the destruction of the obstacle—at a higher level, the obstacle is the ego.”
In other words—today would be a powerful day to release old or outdated ways of thinking about something, especially if this something you’re thinking about is new, either to you or overall.
❝He judged the instant and let go; he flung himself loose into the stars.❞ ——Annie Dillard
When taken apart, we find the words ‘response’ and ‘ability’, which would be to suggest one’s ability to respond, which is to imply a response over a reaction, which should further imply reasonability rather than emotionality, which then assumes a stance of maturity over a juvenile mindset or close-minded ignorance.
Yesterday was harsh… and my personal ability to respond to the energies I was navigating wasn’t my best—hence, no post, and I apologize.
Today’s energies—and this entire week!—are rather challenging, as well, and so I have decided that my daily posts/automated emails, finally, as forewarned months ago, will become a bit more random and not so daily… and I greatly appreciate your support and patience with me on this detail.
I want to give both myself and you my best, and to do that effectively—I need this time to spiritually and energetically recharge… it is my responsibility to you.
Further, I would recommend that love and tenderness—and real responsibility—be taken toward your own shadow work matters… as well as a real, deep, and mindful reflection upon your Now, and upon your Not Yet.
How would you measure your ability to respond, these days, under these more literally sourced definitions?
Is there a response you would prefer to have over whatever response or reaction feels more knee-jerk or instinctual to you?—what shadow work are you willing to work through to achieve this preferred, and likely evolved, response?
❝To say you have no choice is to relieve yourself of responsibility.❞ ——Patrick Ness
Comedian Anthony Jeselnik, who may or may not be preferred by everyone, nevertheless, has a bit from his stand-up show titled ‘Thoughts & Prayers’ (you can find it on Netflix, or here) that perfectly fits for the energies dynamics today… allow me to share a smidge of the transcript:
❝And they said, “Anthony, the problem is when you make a joke on Twitter the day of a tragedy, it seems like you’re making fun of the victims, and that’s wrong.”
❝But that’s not what I’m doing. Because, you see, the day of a tragedy, victims are not on Twitter. Am I wrong? Tell me I’m wrong.
❝The day of a tragedy, victims have got victim shit to do. No one is ever putting on a tourniquet, asking, “Hey, are we trending?”
❝This is who I’m making fun of when I make a joke on Twitter the day of a tragedy—the people who see something horrible happen in the world and they run to the Internet. And they run to their social media, Facebook, Twitter, whatever they got. And they all write down the exact same thing: “My thoughts and prayers…”
❝“My thoughts and prayers with the people in Aurora.” “My thoughts and prayers with the families in Boston.”
❝Do you know what that’s worth? Fucking nothing. Fucking less than nothing.
❝Less than nothing.
❝You are not giving any of your time, your money or even your compassion.
❝All you are doing is saying, “Don’t forget about me today.” “Don’t forget about me.” “Lots of crazy distractions in the news, but don’t forget how sadz I am.”
❝Those people are worthless and they deserve to be made fun of… they’re like a wedding photographer who only takes selfies. You understand?
Today has several intensely compelling aspects building and exacting, as the triggering moon will oppose the aggressions of Mars and then connect to the righteousness of Jupiter in conjunction, as either an informing or instigating Mercury will simultaneously oppose the depths of Pluto through the touchiness of Cancer as the majority of the heavens are operating through the ever-increasingly inevitable complexities between fixed and mutable qualities…
Today’s essence isn’t so much about the asininity of thoughts and prayers being frantically and selfishly shared via social media as it is about the differences between egoically entitled conjecture and actual action—between cutting, edgy, triggering, taunting words or thoughts or opinions or theories or mandates or beliefs… and actual action.
We’re beyond thoughts and prayers at this point.
I suppose we might want to actually think and learn how to live and navigate ourselves among energy and truly meditate and really send love and genuinely get down on our knees and pray… we might want to start giving an actual fuck of effort.
Please also allow me to remind you that as we launch into these new stages of Air we are still navigating within the dynamics of nodal oppositions between Gemini and Sagittarius, which is to say:
Between conjecture and cyclic constancy.
Between noise and truth.
Between wondering and knowing.
Between what we’re being told and what’s actually going on.
Between actual destruction and very real creation.
Occurring today between the actual actions of an emotionally detached Aquarius moon, and the ‘thoughts and prayers’ emotionality of a Piscean moon…
❝Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.❞ ——Cesar Cruz
Instead of making a point toward what you won’t do, or can’t do, or shouldn’t do… wouldn’t it be much more effective, beneficial, reverent, and likely lucrative to prove a point of what you will do and can do, and (hopefully) already doing?
And wouldn’t it be lovely—and really, absolutely intriguing—to go about proving this point of yours quietly, magically, almost anonymously…
Without fanfare, meme, or hashtag?
Can you imagine?—which is precisely the point… the imagining, the spark of subconscious connection—the cosmic connection between what could be to What Could Be!
The true point, I imagine you’ll agree, is within the actual action of the feeling or thought being compelled… it’s not the point, then, but the actual action needing to be taken.
Are you taking action?
To put up a sign in your front yard, then, for example, protesting any number of complaints or compassions, doesn’t really help anything… a sign or decal or sticker or photo border on Instagram isn’t an actual action toward anything but rather an obnoxiously virtue signaled egoic gratification. Oh, the martyred meme…
Is the point you’re currently trying to prove a point of love?—coming from heart-centered consciousness?—and are you actually acting toward and for this love in your everyday?
If not—if you’re simply reposting a meme—is this point really working for you?—is this ‘act’ actually working for the livelihoods of whomever or whatever it regards?—or does it simply allow you to feel a little better, or more involved, or less entitled, or whatever your ego is craving or fearing?
The rebellious moon connects to Saturn in conjunction, then squares Uranus… your points would be better received through creative action over status quo conditioning.
Maybe it shouldn’t so much be about making a point but rather sharing a gesture of egoically- and emotionally-detached vision of love…
Points of Love are always quiet, without fanfare, meme or hashtag… and yet, when Love is imagined, meditated upon, resourced, reflected, and shared—it cannot be ignored; it is anything but quiet…
It need not be reposted—that’s the true magic of it—it travels through the realms of dimensions.
A proof, if you will, is pointedly clear.
❝I knew I matured when I realized every situation doesn’t need a reaction—sometimes you just gotta leave people to do the dumb shit they do.❞ ——Donald Glover
Aquarius Full Moon at 1°26′ *7:36pm PDT; 8:36pm MDT; 9:36pm CDT; 10:36pm EDT —July 23
Maybe you’ve read from other posts how ‘rare and magical’ today’s full moon is…
Yes, the next full moon, on August 22nd, is in Aquarius, again. Through the twenty-ninth degree.
Again, not rare and magical… it’s typical.
What would be rare and magical?—surrendering to the edgy transformation of something particularly ordinary about yourself that you feel particularly honest about… into something extraordinary, incorporated into your everyday.
For a moment, let’s set aside the woo woo modern rulership of Uranus and all its uniqueness and innovative phenomenology, as well as the ever ready uniqueness and phenomenon that is You, and remember that Saturn rules Aquarius, traditionally—which is currently moving retrograde through the eleventh degree of Aquarius, a degree which represents “the essential value of keeping open to the descent of spiritual or soul forces, especially when a new period of individual activity is about to begin…”
Being open, as open as you can manage to manage, to the What If’s of Life—the What If’s that are reflected beyond from within.
Further, “[one] should not depend mainly on outer circumstances and on traditional incentives… there is a creative power within, a power that can be tapped, or rather that should be allowed to flow into the brain-consciousness…”
But because this is Saturn, woo woo isn’t being offered, nor is it even reasonable to consider—this opportunity is more like a demand, or a requirement even, or something more like a personal obligation—rather than some sort of whimsical new-agey blessing.
Because, ultimately, today’s full moon is associated with “the need to develop the inner security which will enable [one] to meet unexpected crises.”
What is a crisis?
Within its finest essence, a crisis is a decision, a separation… a crisis typically, and oh so magically and ultimately, simply demands something of a judgment.
Transforming whatever crisis is occurring for you in your reality at this time into something extraordinary… perhaps this is your decision—to respond or react toward.
To reflect your inner motivations out…
If you’re already living your natal potentials through transits and daily aspects—then you would know well enough what I’m talking about… that today’s celestial traffic isn’t rare or more magical than any other day, because when you live your astrological potentials—what I refer to as walking your red carpet—every day is magical.
We make very real decisions every day.
❝The Edge… There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.❞ ——Hunter S. Thompson
Likely inspired by yesterday’s reminders toward what remains expected of you, today’s chances of acquiring ever more responsibility, obligation, or even an additional role or demand—by ordered assignment or personal devotion—is much more probable.
There may be something of a ‘that’s not how we do things’ vibe, or otherwise, some type of reminder of ‘the rules’, or the boundaries, or consequences… and so there is, then, a radically obvious response or reaction: to stay in line or to veer…
Further, and perhaps more importantly—the essence of this radicality isn’t so much about staying in line or veering, but whether or not: to respond or react.
Things are changing, shifting, and both sporadically and spontaneously emerging… embracing this would benefit you—fighting it or resisting will only zap you.
However. To stay in line or to veer… this will be a case-by-case evaluation—and the findings could be surprising.
Responding or reacting, though, again—this is your choice, despite whatever it is that you’re actually experiencing.
Today may feel as though something heavy, and likely stubbornly isolating in nature, is wanting to hang on, clinging, and ultimately, keeping you down or back or behind—struggling… knowing full well that this behavior, or feeling, or opinion, or whatever is expiring—resuscitation is pointless.
New horizons continue to blur into view, and with these, new potentials and possibilities…
These possibilities could be unexpectedly balancing.
Frustrations are on the rise, indeed, through today’s building energies—especially so, as the full moon in Aquarius is tomorrow, which should prove to be somewhat memorable.
