—September 1
Aries/Taurus Disseminating Moon
September opens with a rather impolite question: what if the problem isn’t actually that there’s something wrong with you?
Inconvenient, I know.
Especially if you’ve spent years developing an extremely sophisticated internal department devoted exclusively to locating defects—the Aries moon begins the month at a threshold, exposing our peculiar talent for examining life as though we’re quality-control inspectors at the human factory.
What’s broken?
What’s missing?
Why do I keep doing this?
Why aren’t I further along?
What glaring character defect explains Tuesday?
There is usefulness in self-examination—but eventually the microscope becomes a funhouse mirror… look for dysfunction long enough and you’ll find it everywhere: every awkwardness becomes pathology, every mistake becomes evidence, every detour becomes confirmation that somehow everyone else received the instruction manual while yours arrived translated from Latvian by a goat.
But something else is trying to happen…
Integration.
Not fixing the supposedly defective pieces—rearranging that they were never random pieces in the first place… the contradictions, strange talents, wounds, peculiar fascinations, failed experiments, years you thought you wasted—September begins by asking whether these might belong to a larger pattern you simply couldn’t see while standing inside it.
Then the moon enters Taurus…
And thank heavens, because Taurus has approximately three minutes of patience for existential PowerPoint presentations before handing you a sandwich and pointing toward the garden.
Come back to what is real…
Your body.
Your work.
Your breath.
The thing growing slowly because you kept tending it…
Something becomes wonderfully simple here—you may not understand the entire architecture of your life, but you can recognize what nourishes it.
You know where energy returns.
You know what feels fertile.
You know what has substance.
You know which thing you’ve been quietly becoming ready to produce.
That’s enough.
But beneath this earthy steadiness, deeper material begins stirring…
Old memories.
Longings.
Dreams.
Forgotten possibilities.
Strange recognitions.
The feeling that something you thought you’d buried has been patiently conducting business underground… the past may return today not because you’re meant to move backward, but because something left there still contains energy.
Perhaps a desire was abandoned prematurely…
Perhaps an old disappointment became a conclusion about what was possible.
Perhaps you adjusted so successfully to an unsatisfying reality that you stopped remembering it was an adjustment.
Humans are spectacular at this—give us enough time and we’ll hang curtains in the waiting room: today’s Taurus moon notices the curtains, and then notices the door…
There may be an uncomfortable awareness of how long you’ve been making something “work” that never quite came alive.
Don’t rush to dismantle everything. Listen first. Because the day’s deeper movement isn’t destruction… it’s retrieval.
Something wants to be brought back into circulation.
A forgotten capacity.
A buried dream.
An instinct.
A way of knowing.
A part of your story that looks entirely different from where you’re standing now…
By day’s end, the practical and imaginative worlds begin cooperating beautifully.
The vision wants hands.
The insight wants language.
The dream wants a calendar.
Something you’ve sensed inwardly may finally become communicable, useful, workable, tangible…
And perhaps that’s September’s opening instruction: stop demanding that everything meaningful remain mysterious—bring some of it down here.
Put it on the table.
Give it a name.
Make it useful.
Let heaven get dirt under its fingernails…
•••Why These Energies Matter—
Today moves us from self-diagnosis toward self-usefulness—there is an enormous difference between endlessly understanding yourself and actually inhabiting yourself.
September begins by asking what becomes possible when you stop organizing your identity around what’s missing.
The wound can teach you.
The past can inform you.
The mystery can inspire you.
But eventually—something needs to bear fruit.
•••Moon Mood Tip of the Day—
Stop asking what’s wrong long enough to notice what’s ripe…
Your life may need harvesting more than troubleshooting.
•••Avenues of Action—
Notice where your inner language automatically becomes negative.
Return to something once meaningful and see whether it still has life.
Choose the tangible next step over another round of analysis.
Spend time in your body: cook, walk, stretch, garden, make.
Pay attention to dreams, memories, and unexpected recognitions.
Examine what you’ve become exceptionally good at tolerating.
Give an intuitive idea practical form.
Finish something quietly waiting to become useful.
•••Potential Pitfalls—
Treating every imperfection as evidence of dysfunction.
Making self-criticism sound impressively analytical.
Romanticizing the past instead of retrieving its useful contents.
Remaining in limbo because you’ve learned how to decorate it.
Confusing familiarity with nourishment.
Getting intoxicated by revelation without doing anything with it.
Hiding enormous inner possibilities behind relentless busyness.
Becoming so useful to everyone else that your own life remains backstage.
•••Relevant Reflections—
Where have I mistaken imperfection for failure?
What am I extraordinarily good at enduring that I no longer want to endure?
Which old dream deserves reconsideration from the person I am now?
What actually gives energy back to me?
What has been quietly ripening while my attention was elsewhere?
Where am I using productivity to conceal possibility?
And—what if September isn’t asking me to become better, but to finally use what I’ve already become?
•••Eclipse Delineations—
Eclipses do not arrive merely to change the lighting.
They are directional—cosmic turning points that close certain roads, illuminate unexpected exits, and quietly rearrange the map while we’re still trying to fold it correctly.
Something is emerging.
Something else has completed its work and is asking—politely or otherwise—to be released.
Through September 30, I’m offering personalized written eclipse delineations for only $99. Your reading will explore where this eclipse is activating your chart, what may be shifting beneath the surface, what is ready to leave your life, and what new direction is beginning to call your name.
Because eclipses change things.
A personal delineation helps you understand what—and perhaps more importantly, why.
Message me to reserve yours.
•••Ethereal Echoes—
For centuries, farmers have practiced a wonderfully unglamorous form of resurrection: saving seed.
At harvest, everything isn’t consumed. Some portion is deliberately withheld. Dried. Stored. Kept through winter. To an impatient eye, the seed looks almost offensively unimpressive…
Hard.
Tiny.
Inactive.
You could easily mistake dormancy for uselessness. Then conditions change. Moisture arrives. Warmth returns. And what appeared to be a dead little object reveals that it had been carrying an entire future in miniature.
There is something beautifully appropriate about beginning September this way—we are remarkably quick to declare portions of our lives wasted.
The relationship that ended.
The abandoned project.
The strange decade.
The skill nobody seemed to need.
The version of ourselves that couldn’t make something work.
We place these experiences into psychological storage and stamp the box: FAILED EXPERIMENTS.
But life has an irritating habit of reopening boxes—because experience sometimes behaves like seed. Its purpose isn’t apparent in the season when it is gathered. Years later, the correct conditions arrive and something seemingly finished cracks open.
The old knowledge becomes useful.
The wound becomes discernment.
The detour becomes expertise.
The thing you couldn’t accomplish becomes the thing you can finally understand…
Perhaps nothing needs resurrecting exactly as it was.
Perhaps you’re simply being asked to recognize what survived inside it.
September begins with the soil open… and something you’ve been carrying longer than you realized may finally recognize the season.
