Extremely successful entrepreneur and author Robert Kiyosaki considers the biggest thief of all to be the concept of hope.

Kiyosaki writes “I often say ‘hope’ is a four-letter word—I say this because so often people hope and pray, but do not take action… people often mistake hoping as a form of action.”

Amen.

Kiyosaki considers that hoping and praying, without action, is “possibly the biggest mistake you can make—you can’t learn anything from it.”

Further, and perhaps most significantly, he adds that “hoping can often turn people into victims.”

Yes.

(Jupiter in Pisces, anyone?!—compassion/empathy turned Christ/savior complexes anyone?!)

And finally—Kiyosaki suggests that the first action one should take for oneself is to “hold oneself accountable.”

Bam.

Astrologer Dane Rudhyar expressed the same sort of notion through today’s illuminated degree, though he explained it through an idea he refers to as substantiation…

As “this inward-turned attention of the mind reveling in its own flowering… that part of the ego which craves direct participation with society and the world of other egos—fully to participate requires a special kind of substantiation—[where] the consciousness surveys possibilities; they are defined by organic nature (personal abilities) and by the ambition to succeed in society… the ego becomes aware of what society has to offer—its attention is turned outward—an interplay takes place between the individual and his culture; he is being molded by what he sees and by prospects for growth in social prestige.”²

The inward focus turned outward is key—it is the motivation toward action… this healthy egoic interplay is action.

Knowledge is power: You hear it all the time but knowledge is not power. It’s only potential power. It only becomes power when we apply it and use it. Somebody who reads a book and doesn’t apply it, they’re at no advantage over someone who’s illiterate. None of it works unless YOU work. We have to do our part. If knowing is half the battle, action is the second half of the battle.❞
